Acton Scott working farm
Used to
take our kids when young, will no doubt take grandchildren in a couple
of years.
This is a
historic working farm, based on the turn of the last century (1900,s)
There’s an
original farmyard with pigs, sheep and goats, etc for the kids to see,
and cattle and geese. There was a’midden’ last time I was there
They do
butter and milk making, and woodmaking/ hurdles being made
Depending
on time of year or week, you can see ploughing, threshing, or the
blacksmith
The
buildings are interesting, and plenty of room for the kids and picnics
Worth a
ring to check what’s going on before you go
Very much
‘back of beyond’, but signposted when near
